Glenn Balfour went as a student to Mattersey Hall in 1982, at the age of 18. While there he also completed a Bachelor’s degree with King’s College, London. Following his studies at Mattersey Hall, Glenn served first at Emmanuel Church, Newark, (AoG) for seven years as Associate Pastor, and then at Tenison Road Church, Cambridge (AoG) for a further seven years as Senior Leader. During this time he completed a Master’s degree and a Doctoral degree with Nottingham University, and began teaching at Mattersey Hall. He took up a full time post at Mattersey Hall in 2000, and served the college in this capacity for the next fifteen years, first as Director of Studies, then as Vice Principal, and finally as Principal. He took up the full-time post of Teaching Pastor at Net Church, Dartford, Sittingbourne, Woolwich (AoG) in 2015.
Glenn returned to serve at the college in 2017, and now also serves Assemblies of God GB as Theologian in Residence,

Glenn’s teaching specialisms include the two main biblical languages –New Testament Greek and Biblical Hebrew – as well as New Testament studies more generally. Alongside his college and local church commitments, Glenn has developed a national and international teaching ministry in various churches and other colleges. At the centre of his personal sense of calling is a desire ‘to teach God’s word to God’s people’.
Glenn is married to Caroline. They have four grown-up children (Rebecca, Nathan, Daniel and Hannah) and six grandchildren (Jemima, Grace, Lydia, Hope, Emilia and Jonah).
